He is made to feel second rate because the horrifying physical abuse, mental abuse, and spiritual abuse he suffered at the hands of the nuns in a boarding school, didn't happen to be sexual abuse as well, in his situation.
He is made to feel his abuse is not newsworthy, or care-worthy, because it was "just" physical, mental, spiritual.
